Virginia Palmetto

Snowing today...

The Virginia Palmetto is a special feature in my landscape.  For years, I’ve been fascinated with palm trees.  Probably because the fun one has at the beach and those trees are there so you associate it with that.  Or maybe because it’s a tree that “can’t” be raised here…and I aim to disprove that.

While in a natural Virginia habitat, it more than likely wouldn’t survive to full maturity, I can help it along in dire situations such as the one depicted.  This tree can survive on its own to 5-10 degrees F.

I named the site Virginia Palmetto really because it’s a unique combination - a palmetto in Virginia.  With work, dedication and by the grace of God it can be successful……as can I.

So there you go!

-God is love
