yeah, I can see that. I don’t know how willing Virginia Power would be, but they’ve done it elsewhere, no reason they shouldn’t allow it here.

From the Richmond-Ashland Railway, if you use the power line right of way you can head west from St. Joseph’s Villa to Hermitage High, then west and north to Crump Park. Or you could head east and connect to Three Lakes and Vawter St. Parks, then south to The Richmond and Rappahanock Railway.

I think the argument is that it is too expensive to go back and install sidewalks. I have noticed that when VDOT does work on major throughways that they’ll install sidewalks. If you check the work being done over on Hull Street Road out past Brandermill you’ll see the sidewalks in.

Not sure what the gas price ordeal will do to things. It really seems like they’re trying to get us used to $3.00ish gas. I’m ready for these alternative fuels more to save money rather than the environment, but that’s cool too.

Ah but I think you are like me and don’t care really that much for sports! It seems occasionally when flipping around on the TV that I find that we once again have the Olympics. Hmm - then I flip the channel. I don’t think I’d really notice if it wasn’t broadcast or if it even were held…

Even still, boycotting the Olympics probably wouldn’t do anything positive for the people in China, especially with regards to allowing religion, would it? I’m curious what a co-worker of mine thinks about this topic as she is Chinese…

I wouldn’t mind sidewalks across the entire metropolitan area. I live down in Chesterfield, where this is mostly the same (although I hear there are some new subdivisions we definitely cannot and don’t want to afford that do have sidewalks!).

I wonder given gas prices (that seem hyped a tad bit right now about the whole $4/gallon we theoretically might see in only a few weeks) if this might change… but I doubt it.

What I find strange is that the CVS at the corner of Church Rd. and Lauderdale Dr. (Bout a mile from Broad and the entrance to Short Pump mall) advertises that they sell GRTC bus tickets. But where is there a GRTC stop in the West End? I would very much like to know, since I walk everywhere as it is…
